Norman grew up in the Jamesport Missouri area. The oldest son of Henry And Susie Ropp. There were 10 children in the family. Norman was the oldest of them all. Raised on a dairy farm. Norman wanted to be an auctioneer at the age of eight he decided then that was his calling. Norman went to auctioneer school (worldwide college of auctioneering) in Mason city, Iowa and graduated in 1992.After graduating, he worked for local auctioneers and then started his own Ropp auctions company. And has been very successful in auctioning throughout many different states. Norman believes in what he does as a professional, and loves to interact with people in all walks of life. Norman met a young lady in 2008. The love of his life. Her name is Chris Cooksey Woldridge. She had been widowed since 2005. She has two children, Callie, Woldridge Etter, and Logan Woldridge. Norman and Chris got married in February 2011. Chris is now Norman‘s cashier for Ropp Auctions. Norman and Chris have five grandchildren that they love and are really proud of Laney, Zang, Canyon, Barrett, and Berklee. When Norman first started his own business from scratch, he had many people that he could trust and always were there for him when he needed them. Watching Norman grow in his business was fascinating in many ways. Norman started out on his own doing consignment auctions and selling draft horses, then went on working for Jewel Swafford, and Larry Foster auctions. He also sold at Manheim auto auction in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Omaha Nebraska for 30 years. He is now employed at Mecum classic car auctions. Norman always says that he is very proud of his team. They work very hard and enjoy working with each other and having fun. Watching Norman and his team work side-by-side… they make the auctions fun for everyone. Norman has always said that he is grateful of his sellers and buyers. They all treat him good, and he treats them very well.
